Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA) Requests
Eastern Plains Council of Governments is committed to transparency and open government. In accordance with the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA), members of the public may request access to public records maintained by our agency.

How to Submit an IPRA Request​
Requests must be submitted in writing and should include your name, contact information, and a clear description of the records you are seeking. Requests may be emailed, mailed, or delivered in person.

For your convenience, EPCOG provides a downloadable IPRA Request Form you may use to submit your request.

Response Timeframe
EPCOG will respond to written requests within the timeframes required under New Mexico’s IPRA statute. Some requests may require additional time depending on the scope and availability of records.
Fees
Eastern Plains Council of Governments does not charge for staff time spent locating, retrieving, or reviewing public records. However, EPCOG reserves the right to charge reasonable fees for materials when records are provided in physical formats, including:

Paper copies

CDs
-
Flash drives
There is no charge for records provided electronically by email.
Fees, when applicable, will be communicated to the requestor before the records are released.
