Community Development

At Eastern Plains Council of Governments, we are dedicated to the wellbeing of our region. We act as a fiscal agent for many of our local governments with community development block grants (CDBGs). Year after year, we assist with the application and administration of CDBGs that typically deal with public infrastructure such as water infrastructure improvements.
EPCOG also manages a substance use disorder (SUD) and opioid addiction grant from the Human Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). This grant aims to collect data in rural areas concerning SUDs. The program also supports the area by placing discharge coordinators in hospitals and adult detention center. With this, we also distribute paid internship positions to place mental health experts in public schools. 
It is the goal of EPCOG to further support our region with services addressing the needs of the locality with services such research, grant administration, and grant writing.
