Open Government in Action: Compliance, Conduct, & Accountability

The Eastern Plains Council of Governments (EPCOG) is proud to host a comprehensive Government Leadership Training designed for municipal and county officials, as well as district board members across the region.

This session will provide practical guidance on key legal responsibilities that shape public service in New Mexico, including the New Mexico Open Meetings Act, New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act, Governmental Conduct Act requirements, and other essential transparency and ethics standards. Participants will gain a clearer understanding of compliance obligations, best practices for public meetings, and how to confidently navigate complex governance situations.

The training will be led by Randall D. Van Vleck, attorney with Van Vleck Law, LLC, who brings extensive experience advising public entities throughout New Mexico. His practical, real-world approach will equip attendees with the tools needed to serve effectively while maintaining public trust.
