Teen Parenting Program

Pat Beck-Program Manager

One of our special programs at EPCOG is the Teen Parent Program which is funded through the Children, Youth and Families Department of New Mexico. This program provides caring, comprehensive and professional support to help the teen parent move from dependency to self sufficiency. Participants receive training in all areas of parenting and life in order to create and maintain a healthy self and family. This is done on the client’s level and he or she can determine the intensity at which they participate.

The  teen parents attend classes which include positive parenting, budgeting, home maintenance, anger management and family planning. They also receive training on accident/disease prevention, personal health, substance abuse prevention and treatment, STDs/Aids and proper nutrition along with mental and dental health. There are many incentives the teen parents receive by attending these classes. Not only are they growing stronger in knowledge but they also receive incentives from our “Mommy Room” which features items for their homes and babies. For more information contact Pat Beck at 575-762-7714 or come by our office at  418 Main Street in Clovis, New Mexico.
