The Information and Technical Support (IT) department is the newest department at EPCOG and is one of the most important. As the administrative agent for the Eastern Area Workforce Board this department is very critical because of the IT support needed in working with several State Agencies such as the Department of Workforce Solution, Human Services Department and the Department of Aging. Also, the collocation and integration process under WIA and TANF has created a special need for IT assistance.
If any of our clients are having computer problems we are able to assist them with on site, but better yet, remote operation control and monitoring. In other words from our office in Clovis and we can help a person in Clayton, Portales or Alamogordo resolve their issue by logging onto their PC without having to leave our office. We also offer other IT support by setting up computers, network printers and servers and we help our clients with hardware installation and configuration.
Currently, EPCOG is the only council of governments in New Mexico with in house video conferencing technologies. Through our Polycom video conferencing network we are able to communicate face to face in real time anywhere in New Mexico or even the United States. Our IT department was very instrumental in setting up this network in seven different counties on the east side of the state. Currently we are able to connect up to twenty-five different locations at the same time for a conference meeting.
